A (Not So) Unexpected Journey

After months of filling out paperwork, it’s finally happening: I’m actually going abroad. For the first time in my life, I’m leaving the country, and it’s not just for a week or two, but four and a half months. So, very unlike our dear friend Bilbo Baggins, this is an entirely expected journey for me.

I chose the beautiful Ecuador for my first excursion outside the US. For those of you that don’t know where it is, here:

As I sit in the airport, not entirely sure what to expect from my trip, I know it’s going to be absolutely amazing.
